Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) is a prestigious public state university located in Surat, Gujarat. Established under the South Gujarat University Act, 1965, the university began academic operations in 1966 and was officially incorporated on 23 May 1967. In 2004, it was renamed in honor of the renowned Gujarati poet Veer Narmad (Narmadshankar Lalshankar Dave).
